Resital®-Precoated Sand
Precoated molding sand produced at HA can be matched to the demands on the castings and the molding process (dumping or shooting) by proper selection among the available Corrodur® coating resins, the variety of silica sand grades, several special mineral matrices and additives.
- Peelback-Free
A variety of Resital® precoated sand grades are available for production of shells and hollow cores, and thanks to their excellent peelback behavior permit reliable fabrication of moldings by the dumping method.
- Accelerated Through Cure
The precise balance of the resin systems makes it possible to reduce the curing times or curing temperatures in production of moldings. This offers an increase in immediate strength levels and a corresponding improvement in the ease of handling, particularly in the case of Resital® coated sand with low resin levels.
- Reduced Odor
HA has developed the Corrodur® coating resins required to meet rising demands on foundries to decrease odor emissions in foundry neighborhoods and at the workplace.
The available resin systems make it possible to produce precoated sand offering a marked reduction in odor emissions.
- Low Nitrogen
Certain types of casting alloys require the use of low-nitrogen molding materials. HA also produces appropriate Resital® precoated sand to meet such demands.
- Specialty Molding Sand
Selection of special mineral matrices make it possible to systematically adjust the properties of the molding sand to match the specific demands on it. In such cases, minerals are mainly used that exhibit low coefficients of linear thermal expansion and thus do not allow finning to develop, minimizing finishing work on the casting.
